Campaign Code of Ethics and Behavior

Mission: To elect Scott Wagman as Mayor of St. Petersburg

All work on this campaign is covered by this code of ethics and all those working on the campaign have agreed to follow it.

  1. I will tell the truth.  If telling the truth entails divulging confidential campaign information, I will say that that is proprietary and confidential and cannot comment.
  2. I will not damage or destroy any competing candidates’ campaign signs, literature or other items.
  3. I will solicit campaign contributions within the confines of campaign finance rules and regulations.  When in doubt regarding a campaign contribution, I will check with the campaign treasurer before accepting.
  4. I will only engage with the media or press if authorized to do so but in any event, I will treat them with courtesy and respect and refer them to the proper person for official comment.
  5. If I become the inadvertent recipient of any competing candidates confidential campaign literature, lists of persons, plans, strategies or other data that is obviously not for general circulation, I will turn it over to the rightful campaign office immediately without reading or copying.
  6. I will behave in a way that will reflect well on me personally and on the campaign in my interactions with others in supporting Scott K. Wagman for Mayor.
  7. I will always endeavor to do the right thing.
